For 6 years, we operated as the Tucson Tasters Guild, a chapter of Tasters Guild International. We grew from 10 members to over 200, becoming the second largest chapter in the country and earning Chapter of the Year honors in 2012.
In 2017, organizational changes at the national level prompted us to reconsider our role locally. You might say we asked ourselves "What do we want to be when we grow up?" The answer led to the creation of the Tucson Food and Wine Enthusiasts.
We are a local, not-for-profit corporation devoted to celebrating the best food and wine Southern Arizona has to offer. We support the local economy through organized events at area restaurants and wineries. To date, our event spend is over $200,000.
We gather at local restaurants and wineries 10 times a year to learn all about food and wine, including how pairing dishes with compatible wines enhances the flavors of both. This is done in a sociable and friendly setting as the intent is to develop an appreciation, not expertise.
